Week 3- Love Like Jesus
John 13:34–35
34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. 35 Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
Three ways to love like Jesus:
I. Love Beyond Convenience
John 13:34a — “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other.”
Matthew 5:44 “But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!”
II. Love Through Compassion
John 13:34b — “Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.”
Colossians 3:12–13 Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
John 13:35 — “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
