Be Our Identity: Strong in the Lord
Ephesians 6:10-12

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

I. Be Strong in the Lord
10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Isaiah 41:10 NLT 10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Philippians 4:12-13 NLT 13 For I can do everything through Christ,[d] who gives me strength. 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or an empty one, with plenty or little.

II. The Necessity of the Whole Armor of God
11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

1 Peter 5:8-9NLT8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. 9 Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are.

The devil isn't there to trip you up, he is there to destroy you, completely. The word "devour" means to consume or destroy completely.

God provides all we need for victory, but we must choose daily to put on each piece of spiritual armor. This is not a one-time act, but a continual, conscious decision to walk in faith, truth, righteousness, and prayer.

III.  The Reality of Spiritual Warfare
12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

IV. Dependence and Responsibility

John 15:5  “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

Philippians 2:12-13. Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
