Identify, How are you living?
Ephesians 5:15-20
15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1. Live Wisely, vs 15
15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.
James 1:5-8 If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. 7 Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.
2. Live for Opportunities vs 16
16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.
Jeremiah 29:11-13. For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. 12 In those days when you pray, I will listen. 13 If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.
3. Live the Lord’s Will vs 17
17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.
4. Live Filled with the Spirit vs 18
18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
Romans 8:16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
Ephesians 5:1 Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children.
5. Live with an attitude of Worship vs 19
19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.
6. Live with an attitude of Gratitude vs 20
20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
