Week 3: Building the House

Finding Healing, Forgiveness, and Unity
Restoring What Has Been Broken
Recognize → Release → Rebuild.

Joshua 24:15
15 But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”

Psalm 147:3 says: “He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds."

I. RECOGNIZE THAT YOUR FAMILY NEEDS REFUGE
Psalm 34:18 says: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

Psalm 139: “Search me, O God, and know my heart...”

II. RELEASE WHAT YOU ARE HOLDING ON TO SO YOUR FAMILY CAN BE RENEWED
Ephesians 4:31–32 says: “Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander... Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”

Romans 8:1 says: “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.”

III. REBUILD WHAT GOD WANTS TO RELEASE

Isaiah 43:19 says: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

God is not simply interested in correcting your past. He's interested in redeeming your future so you can be released to do His will.

RESTORATION REQUIRES REBUILDING
1: Rebuild communication.
2: Rebuild your spiritual foundation.
Deuteronomy 6:6–7 says: “Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.”

RESTORATION HAS TO START WITH ONE PERSON

Recognize → Release → Rebuild.
RECOGNIZE What is broken?  RELEASE.  What are you carrying?  REBUILD What God wants your family to become.

Which all lead to Refuge → Renewal → Release.

Joel 2:25 says: “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.”
